identity
the logo is just part of the story
Identity is basically branding your organization. Multinational corporations spend tens of thousands on research and development for a logo, often before a prototype is even commisioned. Funny thing is, sometimes that fancy logo doesn't work in all media. While they may be able to splurge on the fancy 4-color silkscreen, YOUR budget may not justify that kind of expense — most budgets don't. However, there's no reason why you can't have the same quality as them. Really (I got your back).
But there's more to it than just the logo: assuming in your organization that you talk to people, mail things, or have a product, you'll probably have some stuff to put that shiny new logo ON: your business cards, letterhead and packaging. And those awesome t-shirts, of course. This whole process is what's known as "identity" work. Approaching the task of developing your identity in this way will not only give your organization its new "look," it can save a fortune.
This is by far my favorite part of designing. Hope you like 'em!
